California Regulatory Update
03.26.2026 | Reading Time: 2 minutesWritten by: Natalia De Melo
For years, many of our California customers have relied on Five’s full spectrum hemp products — the formulas you know, trust, and come back to.
We want to share an important update regarding new regulations in California that will impact product availability.
What’s Changing on July 1, 2026?
California Assembly Bill 8 (AB8) introduces new licensing and distribution requirements for hemp-derived products containing THC.
Because all Five products are made with full spectrum hemp extract, we will no longer be able to sell or ship any Five products to California customers after July 1, 2026.
What This Means
- All Five products will become unavailable for purchase in California after July 1, 2026
- Orders can be placed until June 30, 2026, while supplies last
- After this date, we will not be able to ship Five products into California
If you have questions about specific products or past orders, our customer support team is here to help.
Why This Is Happening
This is not a decision we made lightly.
We’ve closely followed the development of AB8 and explored potential paths to remain available in California. However, the new requirements restrict the sale of full spectrum hemp products containing THC through our current model.
As a result, we are required to discontinue sales in California to remain fully compliant with state law.
Our Commitment
Five has always been about delivering high-quality, full spectrum products you can rely on. That hasn’t changed.
While we won’t be able to serve California customers under these new regulations, we remain committed to:
- Maintaining the integrity and consistency of our formulations
- Continuing to serve customers in states where our products remain available
- Monitoring regulatory developments for any future opportunities to return
